30 things in 30 years

Today I hit the big 3-0. Happy Birthday to me!

I’ve sort of been celebrating my birthday for the past couple of weeks. I saw Lady Antebellum at the Ryman, went to see Remember Me, and went car shopping with Kristi and Earl. None of that was officially “birthday” stuff, but pretty much the entire month of March is all about me. I’ve also received some gifts and had a mom-cooked meal. Today, I’m going on a mini road trip with Sherry and Nikki to do some shopping. And then tomorrow will be the annual trip to Olive Garden since the one in BG is STILL not open yet.

Since this is a “milestone” birthday (and because I love making lists), I’ve come up with a list of 30 things I’ve done in 30 years. I’ve even included pictures. Please remember that I’m turning 30, so don’t laugh at me too much or you’ll push me over the edge of my already fragile state of mind.

In 30 years, I …

  1. Attended 374 concerts. *
  2. Read 568 books. *
  3. Fell down 142 times. *
  4. Picked up 1,145,693 seashells. *
  5. Purchased 281 things with seashells on them. *
  6. Collected 63 shot glasses. *
  7. Had some crazy Halloween costumes.
  8. Had some crazy regular clothes.
  9. Had some crazy hairstyles.
  10. Obsessed over Barbies.
  11. Obsessed over New Kids on the Block.
  12. Obsessed over Beverly Hills, 90210.
  13. Obsessed over the Backstreet Boys.
  14. Obsessed over Twilight.
  15. Decided to be a basketball player.
  16. Decided to be a cheerleader.
  17. Decided to be a spectator.
  18. Went to Disney World.
  19. Went on a cruise.
  20. Went to New York.
  21. Went to Dale Hollow “beach”.
  22. Was excited about starting school.
  23. Was disappointed when it wasn’t as exciting as I thought.
  24. Thought I would be a teacher.
  25. Thought I would be a reporter.
  26. Thought I would be a web developer.
  27. Thought I would find some way to be paid for doing nothing.
  28. Turned 16 and became a licensed driver.
  29. Turned 21 and became legal for everything.
  30. Turned 30 and became 30, flirty and thriving.

* All numbers are made up. Did you really think I would count that stuff? Although #3 may be accurate.

Did I forget anything in my list? Want to laugh at my pictures? Or just wish me happy birthday? Let me know in the comments.

Not sure what I was trying to be here.

Not sure what I was supposed to be.

The only photo of me with a Backstreet Boy

Cozumel, Mexico. Wish I still had that tan.

First day of school.

This is my flirty look. Or maybe it's the thriving one.

Where is the Halloween picture taken? I don’t remember the fireplace. I would be interested to see the true concert total, especially since I was sidekick for many of them.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I definitely think that you have probably read more books then your number up there. I also think that your decision to be a spectator might be the best one since your number of falls might be accurate.

Happy Late Birthday…can’t wait until you get into work tomorrow.
