What a difference a week makes! I now have stuff to work on AND I got paid today, so I am now an official employee. No more complaining….at least for a while :-)

I have 2 concerts coming up in August…please don’t laugh at them. First up is Bryan White at the Corvette Museum on Aug. 17. I don’t know his new songs, but I liked old ones. It should be a good time.

On the 30th, we’re going to Nashville to see Nickelback. I think some of their songs are ok, but I do not have any of their cds. And I’ve never thought “I wish I could see Nickelback in concert”. I’m going because a) who am I to turn a concert opportunity down? and b) Kristi pulled her “Maroon 5/Everclear/Fountains of Wayne/Everyone that has opened for The Fray” card. Who knows? I may come back and buy all their cds. Puddle of Mudd is the opening act. I’m thinking that they had a song I knew, but I haven’t been able to remember it. Some dates, Daughtry opens but we were not that lucky. And, if it turns out to be really bad, I might be able to use that to get Kristi to go see Barenaked Ladies some time.

Happy Girl by Martina McBride

How did people who have nothing to do at work survive before the internet? I get bored out of my mind with it!

I know it sounds crazy to complain about doing nothing at work, but I hate just sitting here. I sit with my back to everyone walking by my cube, so anyone can see whatever site I’m on trying to waste some time. They may all think the new girl does nothing unless they’ve been around when I tell anyone that listens that I need something to do. :-)

I do try to limit my surfing to sites that are mostly text such as lifehacker, cnn, etc. I’d rather get caught reading something than looking at pictures like this. The downside to this is I’m so far behind on my pop culture news! I should have known way before 11 am yesterday that Lindsay was arrested for dui and Britney had a meltdown. I definitely should have known there was a new mb20 song out and already listened to it 100 times.

So if you know of something going on that I may be missing, post it in the comments. I have a meeting and some work to do this afternoon, but there’s always tomorrow! :-)

How Far We’ve Come by matchbox twenty

Jul 03

Today is my second day at wku and so far so good. Except for a moment of panic yesterday where I thought every shirt I owned looked stupid and the fact that so far I have nothing to do, everything has went smoothly. I don’t feel like I’ve offically moved into my new cube, but hopefully I’ll bring in my Rob Thomas picture later this week and it will become home.

Let’s see, I was off all last week and didn’t really do much. Kristi, Earl and I went to Alabama for a weekend to do some shopping. We also played mini golf at a place called Funtasia that promised to be “the ultimate putt-putt experience.” It was pretty cool, but it turned out to not be the ultimate for me. For about 5 or 6 holes I was ahead and then, like always, I fell apart and finished last :-(

Next Monday, Kristi and I are going to see The Fray in Nashville. I think I was going through concert withdrawal and luckily they were in town. Yay!
