When I worked at Target, there were “guests” that I recognized as regulars.  There was the woman that would come in at 9:58 pm to do her weekly shopping (we closed at 10), the guys that would wait outside for us to open at 8 am so they could look through the new shipment of hot wheels, and the strange looking man that seemed to come in every day just to look around.  While I was at Wal-Mart last night, I started thinking, have I become that person?

I’m such a frequent shopper at wal-mart that I recognize a large number of the employees.  From the cashiers that look like they’ll die if they scan one more item or the ones that give you way too much personal information (I don’t care about your divorce or your kid that won’t leave home) to the guy that stocks frozen foods, I remember them.  Now this could be because I have a standing date there on Thursdays with my mom plus all the trips Beth and I make there during the week.  I just wonder if they recognize me.   Am I ”that girl that comes in every Thursday and walks around looking bored?”

I guess it’s not just wal-mart.  I remember people from other stores.  Maybe it’s just a sign that I shop too much?

I’ve added a new subcategory to the Music category called “Themes.”  As I was listening to music the other day at work, I realized a lot of my favorite songs have a similar subject, theme or characteristic.  So I thought I would post some of these and you can suggest songs for me to try or give me ideas for other themes.  In case I haven’t mentioned it before, I love comments. :-)

Today’s theme is driving. I love any song that talks about driving or going somewhere. It’s probably because I love to drive especially since I got the coolest car ever.  I have always wanted to just get in my car and drive until I run out of gas, fill up and then come back. Until I do that, I’ll just settle for taking the long way home.

So this post’s title is a line in one of my driving songs.  It is “Days Go By” by Keith Urban. Click More to see my list and some of my favorite lyrics for each song.
