I have a lot of stories about rude people and bad service at restaurants and stores. And it seems that I don’t have just one bad experience per outing, it lasts the whole day sometimes. Tonight is a perfect example.

  1. I stopped at Subway on my way home. The girl that took my order just stared at me when I walked up to the counter.  No “hi, how are you” or “what can i get for you?”. Just staring. When this happens, I just stare back or say “hi” and wait for them to respond.
  2. My mom and I were doing the usual Thursday night shopping and we started at the Dollar General market.  A very strange looking guy walked out of the store in front of us mumbling to himself.  Ok, this has nothing to do with bad service, but it was still very creepy.

The concert was great.  You can view my pictures here. Our seats were great – about the 8th or 9th row I think. I’ve done really well with our seats so far this year. It will probably end with our next concert, but I’ll get to that in a minute.

The Warren Brothers were good and really funny. If you look at my pictures, the second one of them is from when they told everyone to take a picture at the same time. They like seeing all the flashes.

Martina was awesome as usual. She took 2 requests from the audience. One was a song from her first album called “When You’re Old”. No offense Martina, but that was one of the most depressing songs ever. The second request came from her dad (actually the guy sitting behind him) and was “Hit me with your best shot.” Speaking of her dad, she pointed out her parents in the audience a couple of rows up from us during the first part of the show. Then during intermission, people kept coming down to talk to them and take pictures with them. Kristi and I could not understand the attraction. What do you say to them – thanks for having a daughter?

My next concert will hopefully be Rob Thomas at Gaylord in June. Jewel is either co-headlining or opening for him. Since joining the matchbox twenty/rob thomas fanclub a couple of years ago, I haven’t had to worry about where my seats would be. I would purchase two tickets and they would send me a confirmation postcard in the mail. Then, they would pick people randomly for the fanclub seats in the first two rows. The rest of the fanclub seats were given away based on your seniority in the fanclub. When I first joined, my seats were in the 8th row and the last one I went to in Louisville we were in the fourth row I think. So when I saw that he was coming to Nashville, I went to the site to see if I needed to renew and found out that the fanclub is now run by a different company. Seniority no longer means anything. :-( My chances of ever getting in the front row are slim to none. They have upped the ticket limit from 2 to 4 so if anyone wants to go with me & Kristi, let me know.

When God fearing women get the blues by Martina McBride

Another Monday is almost over. Mondays always seem so busy at work, but I usually feel like I acomplish nothing. Like today, I spent most of the morning and part of the afternoon looking at the same code, trying to figure out where I messed it up. I finally figured out that it was a server issue, not anything I did.  I could have spent all that time on more important things…like track-it.

Tomorrow is the Martina McBride concert. I’m taking the day off so that Kristi and I can have a whole day in Nashvegasville. Today was the last day of tax season so Kristi is taking the rest of the week off. We plan to do some shopping as usual and then go to the concert.

I’m excited about the concert because I think Martina is awesome. The first half of the show is supposed to be songs from her Timeless cd, which is all covers of old country songs, and then the second half is from all her other cds. From what I’ve read, her opening act, The Warren Brothers, takes requests from the audience for a song for her to sing during the second part. My choice would be “Show Me”, a bonus track from her “Martina” cd. I love the lyrics to this song which includes the title of this post. Unfortunately, the song was a bonus only if you bought the cd at Wal-mart so she probably won’t be doing that one.

Hopefully, I’ll have some new pictures to upload on Wednesday.

I couldn’t find a clip of the song so here’s a link to the lyrics.

I’m not dead, I don’t have the mumps, and I haven’t been offered millions of dollars for my domain name. Why haven’t I posted you ask?  Basically, because I’m a slacker.  But it’s good to know that there are people that come to my site. :-)

The weather has been awesome this week. There’s nothing better than driving around town with all my windows down and the sunroof open. My hair looks like crap when I get out of my car, but so far no one has said anything. Hopefully it will stay that way. My only problem is I have no good “cruising” music in my car. As much as I love Anna Nalick and The Fray, they don’t have very many songs that are good for turning up really loud.

I’m not only slacking in my posts, but also in knowing about concerts of people I like. I usually know this stuff.  Granted, I don’t go to many of them because they’re during the week, too far away, ticket prices too high, or Kristi will say things like “the bare naked bimbos are sooo stupid.” Last Saturday, Train was in Nashville but I knew nothing about it until I read it in the Tennessean on Friday. It was already sold out. :-( Then Monday, I was listening to 107.5 (looking for some “cruising” music) and they were talking about The Fray being in nashville that night and it was sold out. :-(  I really need to start reading those ticketmaster emails that I get each week instead of deleting them. One concert that I do know about is Martina McBride next Tuesday at the Ryman. I think I bought the tickets last November or December. It was a long time ago.

If I don’t post again before Sunday, Happy Easter!

How to Save a Life by The Fray (Ok, this link doesn’t take you to that particular song, but it is in the list of videos and all the songs are great. Why not listen to them all?)

It’s been a loooong time since I’ve posted. There’s not much going on with me this week. I’ve had a cold for over a week now, so most of my nights are spent sleeping off a dose of tussenex (some really good cough syrup).

Mostly, all I’ve done is watch a lot of tv. On 24, we learned that the president is really behind all the events of the day which is a shocker considering how stupid he’s acted up until now. On American Idol, we learned that country night was not as good as I thought it would be and Mandisa went home. :-( And since I’ve been going to Kristi’s house for lunch, I’ve gotten into Celebrity Poker on Bravo and 8th& Ocean on MTV.

Hopefully I’ll have some time this weekend to work on the site and maybe get all the links working and make a post or two.
